How We Review
Our comparisons and guides are research-based. We do not claim hands-on testing. If we have used a product ourselves, the page about it says so clearly; if a page does not say so, our conclusions come from research, not from testing.
Sources we use
- Manufacturer specifications: official product pages, manuals and spec sheets.
- Reviews marked as verified purchases on retailer sites: we read them for recurring patterns, such as common praise, frequent complaints or durability issues, rather than relying on any single review.
- Expert sources: independent publications and specialists, credited on the page where we use them.
- Merchant data: product listings, availability and published merchant policies.
How a comparison comes together
- We define who the category is for and which specifications matter most.
- We build a shortlist and compare those specifications side by side.
- We choose picks for different needs, typically a best overall, a budget and a premium option.
- For each pick we summarize who it is for, its pros and cons, and its key specs.
- Every comparison includes a "How we researched" section that describes the research and its sources.
What we will not do
- Guess. If a specification is unknown, we leave it out rather than estimate it.
- Show fixed prices. Prices change often, so we show a relative price tier and a "Check price" button that takes you to the current price.
- Invent ratings or reviews. We do not show star ratings.
- Make health or fitness-outcome claims. Our sports coverage is about equipment only.
